Chris Coates

President and CEO

Chris’s senior housing career spans 45 years and has covered all aspects of the business. As Principal and CEO of ER Senior Management and ER Senior Management, Chris directs and oversees the company’s business. Chris has been active on a national basis in promoting and improving senior housing for more than 25 years. More recently, Chris has served as the former Chairman of both the American Senior Housing Association and of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA). He helped start the first Seniors Housing Political Action Committee and served as its first Chairman. He was an early member of the National Investment Center and served on its Owner’s Advisory Counsel for several years. Chris has also been active in pursuing tort reform in Florida and Texas and is a past Chairman of the ALFA PAC. Chris holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Brian has more than 25 years of senior housing and commercial real estate finance and asset management experience. Also serving as Chief Operating Officer of ER Senior Management, Brian oversees the company’s management business with a focus on asset and financial management.

Over the course of his career as an advisor, lender or principal, Brian has participated in commercial real estate and senior housing related transactions in excess of $10 billion including over $5 billion in asset management, $3.5 billion in structured first mortgage loans, over $650 million in CCRC senior housing investments, over $500 million in residential and senior housing development and $250 million in life company first mortgage loans, including over 50 assets in Florida, California and Washington DC metro area. Brian received his MBA in Finance from The NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics from Iona College.

Amber Cox

National Director of Sales

Amber directs and oversees community occupancy development including sales training, lead generation and sales results. She has over 12 years of sales and fundraising experience, including over five years as a senior regional fundraising manager with The American Cancer Society, where her team secured donations for the first Hope Lodge in Texas.

Amber served as our Director of Independent Living Sales at The Craig Senior Living prior to joining our management team.

She became a member of Leading Age Texas in 2017 and enjoys hosting peer-to-peer sessions.

Linda directs and oversees the occupancy development and sales process. She has over 40 years of sales and sales management experience with independent and assisted senior living properties. After founding and running her own sales and marketing companies for 20+ years, Linda joined Brookdale Senior Living as a District Director overseeing the sales functions for 72 communities. She has extensive experience with entrance fee and rental CCRC properties as well as stand-alone assisted living and memory care facilities. Linda’s experience includes a strong background in sales training, lead generation and sales results.

Joan Peterson

Senior Vice President of Operations

Joan heads ER Senior Management’s community operations. With 30 years of healthcare industry experience, including independent living, assisted living and skilled care, Joan has overseen operations in 10 states and 37 locations. She is a licensed administrator and has been a regional manager of operations for Stonegate, Extendicare, Golden Living and Tutera.

Cindy is a certified HR professional with 15+ years of human resource and management experience with a focus on healthcare operations. In her position as the senior HR executive, Cindy manages all of the personnel, compensation, talent, benefits and compliance functions for the company and its community clients. Prior to joining our team, Cindy led the HR functions of an 800-employee firm specializing in senior health care.

Jamie Hayden

Jamie is an accounting and finance professional with over 25+ years experience with CCRC communities and hospitals. Jamie directs and oversees the Abilene-based accounting and treasury functions of ER Senior Management client communities, including financial statement reporting, billing, A/R and collections, accounts payable and payroll. In addition, she oversees the business office and related functions within each community.

Dawn is a registered nurse with 15+ years of progressive nursing experience in senior living and long-term care, having worked as an Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing many years. As Vice President of Clinical Services, Dawn focuses on process improvement in clinical systems, developing policy and procedure and ensuring quality measures are met and exceeded in our communities. She is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Business Administration.

Terry Huskey

Vice President of Information Technology

Terry has worked in the information technology field for over 40 years. His career in senior living began in 1999, and over the past 20 years he has been involved in numerous IT projects. He is experienced in network administration, hardware and software installation, cyber security,  maintenance and troubleshooting.

Dennis is an experienced recruiter with a successful track record in talent acquisition in the senior living industry. Dennis supports ER Senior Management’s client base by finding and filling various positions from high volumes of frontline associates to niche positions in senior leadership. His success in finding the “best fit” candidates for any role stems from being a relationship builder who understands the importance of always putting people first.
